I honestly don't know when I've had so much fun getting ready for a garage sale! This has been a riot. So, challenging myself...I decided to put my entire Revolution die-cutting system in the sale. This includes the 12" platform, all my quickutz dies, all the mats and pads and I've got mats to cut sizzlets and spellbinders dies for the 12" platform!

Then I decided to 1-up myself and I added my entire Sizzix system. Over $1200 worth of product! Again, I have the 6"x12" cutting platform for this - over 100 dies (Bigz, Bigz XL, regular, sizzlet, 12" and so on) and the wheeled tote! I'll be selling these systems as a whole and will not part them out.....but I guarantee you these are the deal of the day!

Did I mention storage? Decorated storage? Those $40 rounders, stuff like that! All going in the sale!

Here's a peek at just 2 rows of tables loaded with goodies! I've been up since 5 am and plan to be out there working all day long!!!

We hope to see you tomorrow at 8 am! 4 canopies in the driveway, but don't forget it's the garage where we've been setting up all this stuff for the past week!!! Hot dog, soda and chips for just $1.50. Chocolate is a penny a piece. We'll have music to shop by!

There's a free make-n-take, then one of the artists will be doing pendants with Opals Embossing Enamels, our Stampin-Up artist is doing a make-in-take and you can watch our polymer artist as she shows you how to make her wonderful beads. Meeting all these artists in one day....what's a crafter to do? LOL!!!

Tumbling and rolling as in this loretone dual tumbler - almost brand new - perfect for polishing rocks and glass (make your own sea glass) - and it comes with all this shot and gell....you won't need to buy a thing! Yes, hubby and I have decided our rock hunting days are over and we bought this just before he started getting too sick to go hunt!

Which means....if the ATV gets home from the shop by Saturday, it will be in the sale as well!!! Polaris 2UP - only 48 hours on the engine! Well, if it gets back, I'll photo it!

I'm going out of the metal clay business. These are enamels for enameling metal clay and/or glass. These are lead based. But they do work as I have tested them. This is a buy what you get as I did not test every color, but what I did test did work. About 25 pounds of enamels! PERFECT for the metal clay artist...you know how expensive these are and how rare it is to find them at a garage sale!!!

An amaco clay baking oven - which will also air dry your metal clay, or "cook" your friendly plastic. I also have a dehydrator in this sale.

Who needs FOUR creme brouillette torches? I'll keep 2 and sell 2! Well, OK, when I was teaching, I did need all 4 of them!

Individual pieces of dichroic glass that have been in bags since I got them so no scratches on them. Individually priced. You don't have to buy the entire scrap pack!

And then for the art show part of this - there will be loads of hand made items. Not only am I selling journals and other art, I'm putting all my jewelry out in the sale. Expect art show prices for these - not garage sale prices! But you won't find .999 silver cheaper anywhere out there.

Finally, friendly plastic with metal clay - what a gorgeous combination. Some have been finished into pendants and some are ready for you to decide what to do with them!

We're out working in the garage again today, adding more stuff. The sale is growing and growing as more artists want to get involved! We now have FIVE canopies going up on the front drive and lawn with 5 artist under them and 3 of us in the garage. WOW!!! If anyone else decides to join us we'll have to put canopies up on the street! I think my local HOA might complain! LOL!!!

Garage sale - post # 2

Susan is selling bells. I'm still not sure why she has so many, but I tell you, I will PAY YOU to come take them! LOLOL!!! Every time anyone walks by and taps the table, or accidently hits the table.....a thousand bells ring! And there were 3 of us out working in the garage all day long....and we must have rung those bells a hundred times!!!

So please, come buy bells! Susan also has all kinds of Christmas, Halloween and Easter stuff for you to buy. She and I both have been teaching classes and as teachers, you always buy more than you will ever need. I think one of the hardest things it to try and prepare for classes. Now it's your chance to cash in on tons of our surplus stuff!

We put up a new pegboard today and loaded it up with all new product. You will be amazed! Most is half or more than half off retail. Shrink plastic, vellum, cardstock paper, scratch board, vellum, crepe paper (we have samples of flowers) and honeycomb paper. Remember honeycomb cards --- you open them up it sort of looks like a beehive? We have honeycomb paper in every color and the cool thing - you can diecut it!!!

Copper foil, glue foil, metal flakes, grungeboard in the 12x12 sheets....there's just so much stuff!!!

Some clothes. Chicos, Ralph Lauren, Fresh Produce, Carole Little.....and cruise wear. I taught on a cruise. I'll probably never teach on a cruise again - I have a little problem called motion sickness! LOL!!! But even if you're not going on a cruise....the fabric is great for altering something else....all that bling!!!

That's me in my Lucy Mcgoo apron and hat......just so you know who you're looking for! The shelves are loaded with hand made art. Oh! what fun!!!

Loads of Spellbinder dies. Some - we've even cut and inked/assembled so you can see what they will do. Sizzlets in the foreground. Brass stencils in the back. Cuttlebug embossing folders and Sizzix bigz dies. I think we have something for everyone!!

And then the stamps! Mine are mostly unmounted and already mounted on ezmount. I use thin mount, but some have the original gray mount on them.

Soldering irons, ceramic molds for slumping glass, tons and tons of enamels for metal clay or glass, firing bricks, kiln shelves, soldering boards, tiny files for working metal clay - wonderful things for the PMC or ACS artist. Brand new!

More stamps!

Susan is selling all of her adirondack ink pads for $2 each! What a deal!!!

We'll be working out there again tomorrow so I'll try to post even more tomorrow evening. I wish I could take individual photos and sell stuff across the world.....but this is a garge sale. The prices are dirt cheap and we can't afford to take the time to do that. Southwest Airlines has pretty cheap last minute flights! LOLOL!!!!! Caravan? Car Pool? Road Trip? You know I'd do it in a heart beat!

See you all Saturday. And we decided today - no early birds. So no reason to come early. We'll open at 8 am. Why? Because we have 3 gals who are setting up Saturday morning and we are giving out free pendants to the first 50 shoppers, so 8 am is when we'll start!

OK, this week I will be taking photos of what's in the garage. But keep in mind, there are artists coming over early Saturday and will be setting their stuff up outside.

A zutter suitcase. Brand new Revolution for $20. Junk bags - never used. Watercolor paints, never used. Punches.

The garage is so full we hung pegboard and are putting new product on it. Loads of Zutter covers - make your own journals. EK Success stickers, tags, mini glass bottles.....

Loads of things to aler like metal tins, box purses, suitcases, candy boxes....love the tiny tin with the handle in front of the lunchbox!

Tim Holtz Tins - so unused you will swear they are new! Lots of paints, dabbers, Starz.....

Dress forms, music boxes, mugs, baskets...things to alter, things to add to things you alter, things to put things inside of. Love that mannikin in the background!

Someone in the group is getting rid of paper trimmers. We had this discussion - how many do you own? I have 5 - will be adding 2 of mine to the sale!

So, most of the stamps aren't even here yet. They are coming on Friday. I have put most of mine into zip lock baggies in sets and stamped on cards so you can see what they are. But I didn't get to all of them....so you can guess what they are! LOL! Over 1000 stamps just in my stuff alone!!!

Brand new Ranger White ink pens at $1 each. Brand new EK Success pens - sealed.

OH, here's the photo of my stamps - 3 large boxes - each package has up to 10 stamps in it. Most are priced at $1 or $2. What a deal!!!

And we are very creative when it comes to what is classified as "art" for this sale! EVERY artist needs an electric sander and a jigsaw! But I don't need 4 of them! I counted - we have 4 electric sanders!!! There's a dewalt drill as well - I gotta find the case for it first! Oh! So much to do and so little time!!!

Lots of glue lines tape, reinkers, emobssing fluids....all brand new!

Crepe paper. All colors. And I made sample to show you what you can do with it! We also have honeycomb paper - I'll photo that when I get the sample made. Gotta love honeycomb as you can cut it with your diecuts!

These are ink pads WITH the reinkers in zip lock baggies. Brand new. $4 each! YIKES!!! And I have misters with matching chalks in baggies....had to bag the sets so they stay together!

Brand new distress ink pads $2.50. Tons of used pads from classes and they are all $2 each. Embossing powders still sealed - $2 each!

So now you have a sampling of whats in the sale and what the prices are. Less than wholesale on brand new items. Today, I'm bagging up things that will be 5cents, a dime or a quarter. Have 2 boxes filled and no place to put them! So I'm pricing and boxing and it will all go out Friday when the cars get backed out of the garage.

Don't forget, we'll have hotdots, chips and soda at lunch - at cost, so they will be cheap as well! Come early, do some make-n-takes, shop, visit with your friends, meet fellow artists....

Starving Artists show and sale - 9/18!!!

Yeah - it's almost here! This year, instead of having a retreat, we are cleaning studios and going to have a garage sale and art show! Hope you can make it! 8 am - 3 pm. Each artist will have their own table(s) and you can come buy their wonderful creations or see just what they might have for sale.

We have an amazing polymer clay artist selling her incredible pendants. Our favorite Stampin' UP gal will have her catalogs and probably some suprise make-n-take for you to do!

We've planned a triple tag make-n-take as well! So if nothing else, come play - it's a freebie!

You just never know what all we might have planned. And food - yes, there will be food and we guarantee it will be cheap - after all, we're the "starving artists" and we do everything as cheap as we can!!!

Ancestor ATCs

Thursday, July 15, 10 am - 3 pm. Free. Limited to 10.

ATCs, known as Artist Trading Cards, are mini collages the size of playing cards - about 2.5" x 3.5". These mini collages are small enough to be used as an embellishment on a scrapbook page, as the cover to a journal, or the center of a framed object. You will learn how to showcase an ancestor with keepsakes and other memorabilia. You will need to bring five 1.5" x 1.5" or smaller photos of ancestors or family members. If you have tiny memorabilia you want to use, bring that as well. Everything else is provided.

Finding Nemo - genealogy research

Sometimes, finding that one elusive ancestor is like finding Nemo in the ocean - just impossible. Bring all the information you have about one ancestor you can't find. I'll have Ancestry.com up on a big screen TV and will show you my hints and tips for finding people that others miss. We'll "think like an indexer" and we'll role play 1800 census takers. If you have a membership to ancestry and have a laptop, bring it and you can play along! Limited to 12, so sign up early!

July 17, Metal Clay Beginner's class - Make it in Silver!

This is going to be so much fun! Only $20.00 and you will receive 7 grams of metal clay to play with. 10 am - 4 pm with a 2 hour lunch break. From 10 - noon, we will design our pieces. You will have enough to roll it out and stamp into it. Or....if you bring a 1 x 1 1/2" photo of an ancestor on plain printer paper, we can etch that design into the clay.

From noon to 2 pm, we'll take a long lunch while the silver gets fired and polished. Feel free to bring your own lunch and just stay and play in my studio, or there are several restaurants close by.

At 2 pm, we'll grind off any rough edges, and polish these pieces to make them the perfect gift or keepsake. You don't need to bring anything other than the photo. If you have a favorite tiny stamp, feel free to bring that or pick form several hundred stamps that I have here.

You will leave with a piece of .999 fine jewelry!

10 am - 4 pm. $25.00 Did you ever have a childhood book that was called a star book? When you opened it up and put the cover back to back, the inside pages formed a star:

We are going to make one, and it will include openings for 12 relatives. This could be all 12 years of a child's class photos, or 6 sets of grandparents, or 12 years of photos of you!

Using scrapbooking and diecutting techniques, ink, paper and rubber stamps, we will make a heritage album for you to keep or give to someon you love as a lifetime keepsake!

Bring 12 photos sized to fit behind 2" x 3" openings. Black & white are best, but color works as well. Everything else will be provided. Limited to 8.

Summer class schedule!

First class is going to be a Friendly Plastic Class - come learn how to make a bracelet using the Fracture n Fusion Technique. You can use this technique for so many things, but we'll just be making a bracelet.

June 11, 5 - 9 pm. $15 includes a kit and you're sure to have enough left over to make several pendants and/or earrings!

We will add a layer of coating to this that takes 72 hours to dry, so you'll need to come back the next week to pick it up.

These are wonderful to wear - or give as the perfect gift!!! You'll walk away addicted to this fun "new" medium!!!

The Starving Artist's Playground!!! Where we often try to put square pegs into round holes! We just love to play, experiment, learn and grow as artists. And while we don't have any money, we do manage to find chocolate on most of our play days!!!

As we grow, we'll hook up a calendar of events and start posting playshops and such. But we thought we'd start out with our glossary of terms:

Starving Artist's Playground (SAPs) - the place to play with all your creative friends

Playshop = class or workshop - a chance to catch your favorite artist in an intimate, interactive setting, each playshop centered around a different theme/product/technique

Kids = students

Playground Professors (PPs) = instructors

You can be "flung off the swingset" which would be the same thing as getting voted off the island!!!

Our very first event is a 3 day ultimate girls getaway weekend in Lafayette, Colorado. It's posted over on the top right hand side of this blog. This is our second annual retreat and it's already full up! But you can get on the waiting list by emailing us at lucymcgoo@gmail.com and put "October" in the subject line.
